Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cake maker who wants to expand your repertoire, Bespoke Bakery offers group classes that will be informative and fun. All equipment and materials will be provided, so just bring an apron and enthusiasm for a creative, sweet adventure.

The classes will be held at our newly equipped premises in Daneshill, Basingstoke and will be taught by Lesley Oliver, who is a professionally qualified cake decorator and teacher. A maximum of six students per class can be accommodated. To avoid disappointment, book your place without delay!

Cake Decorating Class - Beginners


Duration: 2.5 hours (7pm - 9.30pm)
Date: Tues, 12th March
Course Fee: £45.00

This course is suitable for complete beginners and is an ideal “taster” session if you just fancy giving cake decorating a try. Everything you need for the class will be provided for you, and tea and coffee will also be provided free of charge.

Learn to split a sponge cake, fill it with jam and buttercream, and the correct way to apply sugarpaste to the exterior to achieve a smooth and professional finish. You will also learn to make unwired roses from sugarpaste and use them to decorate your cake. At the end of the session, take home your 6” decorated cake in a box so that your family can share in your achievement.

Wired Sugar Flowers, Part 1 - Beginners


Duration: 8 hours
Dates: Thursdays on 18th April, 25th April, 2nd May, 9th May (7pm - 9pm)

If you have ever looked at a professionally decorated cake and wondered how those amazingly realistic sugar flowers are made, this is the course for you!

This class will set you upon a voyage of discovery toward being able to produce all sorts of delicate and beautiful sugar flowers. The course objectives are:
Everything you need to complete this course will be provided. At the end of the course, you will take home your finished flowers to keep or use to decorate a cake!

Figure Modelling - Beginners


Duration: 2.5 hours (7pm - 9.30pm)
Date: Tuesday 26th March
Course Fee: £45.00

This class will give you confidence in basic figure modelling. Learn the tricks of the trade to make your figure stand or sit in a realistic pose and how to add easy details that never fail to delight! At the end of the class, take home the figure you have made, to keep or use to decorate a cake!

Wired Sugar Flowers, part 2 - Beginners


Duration: 8 hours
Dates: Thursdays on 18th April, 25th April, 2nd May, 9th May (7pm - 9pm)

This course is a continuation of our "Beginner’s Wired Sugar Flowers, Part 1" course. It is for those who enjoyed making their first flowers and would like to try more challenging designs. Make carnations, honeysuckle and variegated ivy. Colour and tape them into a spray either on their own or, if you completed the previous course and kept the flowers you made, tape them together into a larger spray.

Modelling - Mouse Bride & Groom - Intermediate level

Have a go at making these delightful little mice that look like they just walked off the pages of a Beatrix Potter book. They are ideal for use on the top of a country wedding cake. Learn the techniques needed to make and dress these mice, using the correct paste for the best results. All materials and equipment to complete this project will be provided. At the end of the evening, take home your bride and groom mice on a cake board ready to pop on the top of a special cake.





Bake and Decorate 12 Cupcakes - Beginners or Intermediate


Duration: 4 hours (12pm - 4pm)

In this course, you will learn to bake and decorate 12 vanilla cupcakes. You will mix and bake the cakes under supervision. Whilst they are baking and cooling, you will choose a theme and make various decorations which will be used to finish them later. Make perfect butter cream and pipe it onto the cupcake in a swirl and top them off with the decorations made previously. Everything you need to complete this class will be supplied.  At the end of the class, take home 12 delicious, decorated cupcakes in a window box for all your friends to admire...if they last that long!

Piping Skills - Beginners


Duration: 4 hours (12pm-4pm)
Date: Saturday 23rd March
Course Fee: £72.00

If you have never piped icing onto a cake, this is the place to start.

Course Objectives: We will practice piping techniques on a board before finishing the afternoon by piping onto six cupcakes. You may take them home with you in a box.

All equipment/ingredients will be supplied for you to complete this course.
