Bespoke Cakes,Our process
If you would like to order a bespoke cake please phone us or email in the first instance to check we have the availability for the date that you will require the cake. If we can accommodate your order we will discuss the design with you. We will ask what type of cake you would like (vanilla sponge, chocolate sponge, gluten free, a fruitcake, etc) the style of cake, (traditional (normally a round or square decorated cake) or a numeral, or a shaped novelty cake, a tiered cake, etc) If appropriate we will ask you what colour/s you would like us to use and what inscription you would like on the cake.
We are happy to suggest a design if you are stumped for ideas. Sometimes we will require a little time to think about and research a design and will arrange to call or email you back within an agreed timeframe. The majority of cake orders are sorted out entirely over the phone or by email, however you are welcome to come in and see us if you prefer to discuss your order face to face.
Once we have agreed a design we then require either a deposit (if you are ordering with more than two weeks notice) or full payment to confirm the order. This can be paid by debit or credit card. If you have paid a deposit the balance of the order is due when you collect the cake or before delivery if we have agreed to deliver locally. Bespoke orders for delivery by overnight or dedicated courier are payable in full when we accept your order.
Prices for bespoke cakes vary depending on the complexity of the design and the amount of work involved so they are always quoted for on an individual basis.
These cakes are baked to order but the design is predetermined and cannot be changed. It is possible to personalise the cake by selecting the various options in the drop down boxes and adding the inscription that you would like. You do not need to call us or email us for these cakes and the whole transaction from selecting the cake to paying for it takes place on our website.
